Room size and how much you can afford. Then think about a pair of speakers that have a bi-amp and those that have a single one. This is very important. The speakers each have a mid range cone and a tweeter for the high end. These are powered by an amplifier. The single amp system drivers both these components while the bi-amp system has a separate amplifier for the tweeter and another for the mid range speaker. For mixing music it’s very important to have at least 2 different sets of reference monitors because they will sound very different from each other. Having only one pair means you should choose something that is very natural sounding.
