It has a core speaker base unit for the Ipod dock with wireless speakers and a remote control. The full wireless speaker system is a great standalone audio system .The wireless speakers are expandable . You can build a network of five rooms from this simple base unit. The base unit has easy to use functions for volume , source input and a button for muting the system. The base unit controls the audio functions. It toggles for range extension controls any compatibility problems from other wireless networks. The remote is not big but offers the same choices on the iPod. If you want to put the system on shuffle it is easy to do from the remote control. The wireless speakers offer good sound quality with impeccable richness and bass. Some audiophiles will notice a difference compared to Bose units. Adding speakers is a benefit and is straightforward. Wireless speakers find the base unit automatically. Each speaker has adjustable sound. Every room can have its own volume which is a nice feature. Some wireless speaker systems do not allow this capability. Eos uses what they call Gigawave technology. It uses different frequencies that let the system operate without interference from other wireless networks. Some wireless speaker systems have interference problems but not this unit.
